API for weed detection in crop imagery
How it is run today: Vendor API (pass-through)
The realistic API today is Roboflow: a platform to train and host object-detection workflows that locate weeds versus crops in drone, tractor, or phone imagery, with cloud, edge, and HTTP deployment.
Pass-through is realistic: wrap Roboflow Serverless / Inference HTTP for a customer’s model or a Universe model. Quality depends on the specific trained model. There is not one global “weed model.”
To deliver: a Roboflow account and API key; optionally train on customer images. No GPU on our side if we use their cloud. An edge GPU is only if the customer wants the model on-machine. Platform terms are a customer / Roboflow agreement. RF-DETR is called out as Apache-2.0 on the Universe weed page for training.
The customer supplies labeled or unlabeled field imagery and a crop / weed species list for their region. We did not build the detector. We do not guarantee detection quality.
